New Brands & What to Expect for Spring 14

Your sneak peek into some of the newest brands hitting the floor at The Tannery, and what’s in store for them in the future.

BEC & BRIDGE

Founded by classmates Becky Cooper and Bridget Yorston, they share a common vision that has led them to become a formidable force on the Australian fashion scene, as well as the US.

Best known for their its innovative takes on the classic party dress, they also feature a refined collection of chic separates in fresh and vibrant color palettes.

It was during their show at 2012’s Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week where Bec & Bridge showcased their ‘Paradiso Bianco’ collection, that truly grabbed the attention of some of the Fashion World’s most respected editors and bloggers.

Watch out for easy wearing silks in neutral colors, and lots of white for SS14. You will also see hints of metallic combined with sheer and washed out watercolor patterns and pops of bordeaux.

BLK DNM

Founded in 2011 in New York by Scandinavian designer Johan Lindeberg. After working with brands such as Diesel, William Rast and his own J.Lindeberg, he once again went out on his own and created BLK DNM.

With a European design esthetic, and inspiration from the style and culture of New York City mixed with a little 90’s grunge, BLK DNM has a truly unique look.

Best known for its fitted jeans and lambskin motorcycle jackets, the brand refuses to follow seasonal fashion and remains focused on staple wardrobe pieces.

For this spring BLK DNM focuses on pairing black and white in bold graphic patterns on  everything from jackets to leather pants and tshirts. Also featured are well tailored vests and suit jackets, and an overall looser fit across the board for denim.

BWGH

Using the direct inspiration of the melting pot that is Brooklyn, New York, Brooklyn We Go Hard (BWGH) a Parisan based label, started out by creating print t-shirts and have since expanded it’s offering to include sweatshirts and shirts.

The ready-to-wear brand’s objective is to provide support to young talents whose work deserves to be known. BWGH stays connected to the culture by working with a collective of young photographers, using organized cultural events and the establishment of a biannual magazine. BWGH’s collection is made to be worn by an open and passionate generation.

For the upcoming season BWGH switches up their color palate and focuses on soft blue hues, natural whites and golden yellows. The collection boasts a nod to summers past with vintage inspired t- shirt graphics, specifically placed stripes, and retro floral patterns.

The company is founded based on the belief that technology has the power to improve our lives and that we should demand more from our clothes. Combining performance and a focus on the paradox between simplicity and complexity are at the heart of the design philosophy of the brand.

Each item is a statement of innovation, quality and research and stays true to the essential and modern aesthetic of the brand. For Isaora each customer is a global citizen with a taste for adventure.

For SS14 expect to see a range of shorts, sweatpants and jackets in lightweight technical materials in staple colors such as grey, white, black and navy. With a focus on layered looks, all pieces are meant to work well together or stand alone as separates.
